Leofoo Village Theme Park: Is It Worth It? + How to Get There from Taipei by Commute
Theme park and zoo in one β and commutable from Taipei. Here's the full Leofoo Village guide: rides, tickets, Bus 5350 commute route, and what to expect.
Taiwan's best theme park and zoo combo β and you can commute there directly from Ximen or Taipei Main Station. Here's everything you need to know before you visit Leofoo Village in Hsinchu, Taiwan.

What Is Leofoo Village? π‘
Leofoo Village Theme Park, located in Guanxi Township, Hsinchu County, is one of Taiwan's largest and most famous theme parks. Originally opened in 1979 as just a safari park, it was expanded into a full theme park in 1994. Think of it like Taiwan's version of Disneyland β similar layout, multiple themed zones, and enough rides and attractions to fill an entire day.
The park uniquely combines a large-scale theme park with a safari wildlife zoo, making it a standout attraction for families, thrill-seekers, and animal lovers alike. It features over 30 popular rides spread across its diverse themed areas.
The Four Themed Zones πΊοΈ
π€ Wild West
The most intense zone in the park β and the one to hit first before your legs give out. It's an old-west-themed area with thrilling rides, picturesque spots, and live shows. The centrepiece attraction is an inverted coaster called Screaming Condor β a U-shaped sling track coaster that reaches 122 km/hr. It also includes the Big Canyon Rapids, the biggest man-made canoeing river in Taiwan.
Fair warning: if you're going on the wild rides first like we did β literally binali-baliktad kami β maybe eat after, not before. π€’π

π South Pacific
Home to the Mighty Flume β a log-flume style water ride with two drops that will leave you genuinely soaked. South Pacific is noted for having some of the biggest coaster rides in Taiwan, including Pagoda's Revenge and Captain Cook's Swinging Ship.
A few things to know going in: the queue for the Mighty Flume can run close to an hour on busy days. And almost everyone around you will be wearing a raincoat β the park sells them on-site for around β±250 each. Mahal, yes, but also 100% worth it after getting absolutely drenched on the ride. π¦

π§ Arabian Kingdom
A slightly more relaxed zone with rides like the Sultan's Adventure and a 5D theater β good for when you need a breather from the bigger rides. The Arabian Kingdom features rides like the Flying Horse monorail and is built around an immersive Arabian Nights aesthetic.

π¦ African Safari
The African Safari is the only safari zoo in Taiwan where you can see more than 70 species and over a thousand wild animals. The Monkey Trail covers over 2 acres with nearly 30 species and over 100 rare monkeys including Arabia Baboons and orangutans. You can explore the zone by bike (Monkey Trail), steam train, or on foot β a much calmer experience after the thrill rides earlier in the day.
